Seems they've been known (but uncontacted) since 1910. This asshole intentionally interfered with them to make a political point. Love the cause. Hate the activist.

Actually, the real 'interference' is coming from the illegal loggers on the Peruvian side of the border who are causing other tribes to flee across the border to Brazil, putting pressure on uncontacted tribes like those in the photos.
The 'a--hole' as you referred to him has managed, through these photos, to get the Peruvian government to investigate the illegal logging.
Like I said, I'm all for the cause, but surely there were better ways to go about this than to scare the shit out of a tribe that had no knowledge of the outside world. Surreptitiously taking photos from the ground could have worked just as well, don't you think?
